Family Tree Service

A truck-mounted aerial lift with an elevated personnel platform used to position an arborist within the tree canopy. Bucket trucks are commonly used for pruning, removals, utility clearance, and other aerial tree work where the tree can be accessed from a roadway or suitable driving surface. This service includes the bucket truck and a qualified operator.

A qualified commercial driver available to operate and transport commercial trucks, trailers, tree care equipment, wood, chips, and other materials. The profile should identify the driver’s CDL class, endorsements, and relevant driving experience.

A contract climber accompanied by a qualified ground support person, providing a coordinated two-person team for climbing, rigging, debris handling, and cleanup.

A qualified arborist providing tree evaluations, risk assessments, preservation recommendations, inventories, written reports, appraisals, specifications, and other professional guidance.

A skilled climbing arborist available to perform specialized tree pruning, technical removals, rigging, and other aerial tree work using rope and climbing systems.

A tracked excavator for removals, land clearing, stump and root excavation, and moving heavy timber. Frequently run with a thumb, grapple, mulching head or shear rather than a bucket. This service includes the machine and a qualified operator.

Bucking, splitting and stacking cordwood, whether on a jobsite or at a yard. Ranges from a splitter and an operator for an afternoon to a processor working through a landing's worth of logs. This service includes the equipment and the labour to run it.

A truck equipped with a hydraulic loader and grapple used to pick up, load, transport, and unload logs, brush, wood, and storm debris. This service includes the grapple truck and a qualified operator.

Experienced ground personnel available to assist with rigging, ropes, chainsaw work, chipping, moving tree debris, cleanup, and general support of aerial tree operations.

Clearing standing brush, undergrowth and small-diameter trees from a site, either by grinding it in place with a forestry mulcher or by felling and removing it. Mulching leaves the material on the ground as a chip layer instead of hauling it off, which is often faster and cheaper than clearing and burning. This service includes the machine and a qualified operator.

A qualified professional available to operate specialized equipment owned or supplied by the hiring company. The operator provides experience and labor but does not supply the machine.

Recreational tree climbing instruction — learning to ascend, move around and descend live, healthy trees on rope without harming them. Low-impact technique on stationary and moving rope systems, canopy movement, work positioning, tool use aloft and aerial rescue, for adults and for arborists sharpening technique away from production pressure.

Roll-off containers delivered, swapped and hauled for tree work — brush, logs, stumps and mixed debris. Sized by the job and priced by the pull, this is the alternative to running your own trucks back and forth on a removal that produces more material than a crew can carry.

An experienced arborist available to meet with clients, evaluate tree care needs, develop appropriate work recommendations, prepare estimates and proposals, and assist with job planning.

A full-sized skid steer or compact track loader for moving logs, brush, wood chips and soil around a jobsite, and for running attachments such as grapples, buckets, forks and mulching heads. This service includes the machine and a qualified operator.

A compact, tracked aerial lift with outriggers designed to travel through narrow-access areas and operate on lawns, slopes, and sensitive terrain. Spider lifts provide elevated access in locations conventional bucket trucks cannot reach. This service includes the lift and a qualified operator.

Crews available at short notice for storm work — clearing roads and access, removing trees off structures and vehicles, and supporting utility restoration. Storm work is its own discipline: hazardous trees under load, long shifts, and travel to the affected area, often for days at a time.

A specialized machine that uses a rotating cutting wheel to grind tree stumps and surface roots following tree removal. This service includes the stump grinder and a qualified operator.

A purpose-built tree-handling machine — a telehandler or knuckleboom-equipped carrier fitted with a grapple saw or grapple head — used to cut, hold and place tree sections without a climber in the tree. This service includes the machine and a qualified operator.

An experienced pruning arborist specializing in proper branch selection, structural pruning, crown reduction, restoration, clearance, tree preservation, and canopy management.

A qualified line-clearance arborist trained to prune and remove trees near energised conductors, working to the approach distances and clearance specifications utilities require. This work is distinct from residential tree care: it is performed under utility standards, often on a circuit-by-circuit cycle, and calls for climbers and operators who hold current line-clearance qualifications.

Cyclical clearing and maintenance of corridors — transmission and distribution lines, pipelines, rail, roadside and access routes — to keep them open and compliant. The work mixes mechanical mowing and mulching, hand crews with saws, and selective treatment, usually measured in miles of corridor rather than in individual trees.

A hauling service for removing and transporting logs, brush, wood chips, tree sections, and other tree-related debris from a jobsite. This service may be offered independently from other tree care or equipment services.

A machine designed to process brush, limbs, and other suitable woody debris into wood chips. This service includes the chipper and a qualified operator and may provide additional chipping capacity for removals, pruning projects, storm cleanup, and land-clearing work.
