Terms of Service
Effective August 27, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Treelign Business Inc. (“Treelign”, “we”, “us”) for using treelign.com. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you don’t, please don’t use Treelign.
The most important thing to understand: Treelign is where tree care businesses find each other, not a party to the work they agree to do. We introduce you; the job, the price and the payment are between you and the other business.
1. Who can use Treelign
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract. Treelign is for businesses and the people who run them; if you sign up on behalf of a company, you confirm you’re authorised to accept these terms for it.
One account per person. Keep your password to yourself — anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at info@treelign.com if you think someone else has access, and change your password, which signs every other device out immediately.
2. What Treelign is — and isn't
Treelign is a listing and introduction service. Members post jobs, other members apply, and the poster decides who to hire. We are not a contractor, a staffing agency, an employer, or a party to any agreement you reach with another member.
We don’t handle money. No pricing, estimates, invoices or payments pass through Treelign. Rates shown on a profile are that member’s own published figures, and what you actually agree is negotiated directly between you.
We don’t vet members. We don’t verify licences, insurance, certifications, equipment or competence, and nothing on the platform is an endorsement. Checking that the business you’re about to work with is licensed and insured for the work is your responsibility, on both sides. Tree care is dangerous work, and that judgement is yours to make.
3. Your content
Your profile, job listings, photos, messages and reviews stay yours. By posting them, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and distribute them for the purpose of operating and promoting Treelign — which is what makes it possible to show your profile in search results, your job on a listing page, and a shared link’s preview card.
You confirm that what you post is yours to post: that you took the photographs or have permission to use them, and that you have permission to show a site you worked on.
We can remove content that breaks these terms or the law, and we’ll tell you why when we do.
4. Acceptable use
Don’t:
- Post anything false, misleading, or that isn't yours — including claiming certifications, licences or insurance you don't hold.
- Harass, threaten or discriminate against another member.
- Use Treelign to advertise something other than tree care work, or to send bulk unsolicited messages.
- Scrape the site, or collect other members' details for use off the platform.
- Try to break, overload or work around the security of the service, including its rate limits.
- Create an account for someone who has been removed, or hold more than one account to get around a limit.
- Post a job you don't intend to fill, or apply for work you don't intend to do.
If you see something that breaks these rules, report it — there’s a report control in every message thread, and you can block another member from contacting you.
5. Jobs, applications and hiring
A job lists the services it needs and how many people it needs for each. Providers apply for the services they offer. The poster reviews applicants and decides who to hire; they can also decline an applicant, which is done quietly — no notification is sent, and the job leaves that provider’s search results.
Once someone is hired, the poster marks the work in progress and each side marks their own half complete. Neither side waits on the other to do so.
A job listing is a description of work, not an offer of employment, and applying is not acceptance of one. What you agree with the other business — scope, schedule, price, insurance, who supplies what — is entirely between you, and we strongly recommend putting it in writing.
6. Reviews
After a job, each side can review the other. Both directions are public and appear on both profiles — a job poster is reviewed on what they were like to work for, in the same system and on the same terms as a provider.
A review publishes as soon as you submit it, and it is permanent. There is no editing window and no way to withdraw one because you didn’t like what the other side wrote. Write it as though it will be read by everyone who looks at that profile from now on, because it will be.
Reviews must describe your own experience of a real job on Treelign. Trading reviews, paying for them, writing them about yourself, or using one to threaten someone into a concession is grounds for removing the review and the account behind it. We will remove a review that is unlawful or that breaks these rules, but we don’t remove one for being unflattering.
7. Messages and alerts
By opting in to Treelign SMS notifications, you agree to receive recurring text messages regarding job matches, applications, hires, messages, review requests, and other account activity. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Treelign sends alerts by SMS and email about your own activity — a job matching your services, an application, a hire, a message, a review request. SMS is off unless you turn it on and tick the box agreeing to the wording above; it is never pre-ticked. You can turn SMS and email alerts off independently in your profile settings, and you can stop SMS by replying STOP.
Essential account email — password resets, security notices, changes to these terms — is sent regardless, because it isn’t marketing and switching it off would leave you unable to recover your account.
8. Availability and changes
We’re building Treelign actively and features will change. We may add, alter or remove parts of the service, and we may need to take it offline for maintenance. We don’t promise uninterrupted availability. If we make a change that materially reduces what your account can do, we’ll tell you.
9. Suspension and ending your account
You can stop using Treelign whenever you like, and you can ask us to delete your account at info@treelign.com. What happens to your information then is set out in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, that we reasonably believe is being used to deceive or endanger other members, or that we’re required to act on by law. Where it’s reasonable to do so, we’ll say why and give you a chance to respond. A suspended account stops working immediately, on every device.
10. Disclaimers and liability
Treelign is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any member is suitable, qualified, licensed or insured.
We are not responsible for the work members do for each other, or for what happens on a job site. That includes injury, property damage, unpaid invoices, work that isn’t finished, and disputes of any kind between members. Those are between the businesses involved.
To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim relating to Treelign is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which today is nothing, since the service is free) or one hundred US dollars. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or lost business.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, in which case those limits apply only as far as the law permits and the rest of this section still stands.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Treelign Business Inc. against claims, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your use of Treelign, anything you post, work you perform or commission through the platform, or your breach of these terms or of the law.
12. Disputes and governing law
Disputes between members are for the members to resolve. We aren’t an arbitrator and we don’t adjudicate who was right about a job. We will act on conduct that breaks these terms.
Disputes with us are governed by the laws of , without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located there have exclusive jurisdiction. Before filing anything, please write to info@treelign.com — most things are quicker to fix than to litigate.
13. General
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us about Treelign. If any part of them is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. Not enforcing something straight away doesn’t mean we’ve given up the right to. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours as part of a sale or reorganisation of the business.
We’ll update these terms as Treelign changes, and the effective date at the top will change with them. For a material change we’ll tell you before it takes effect. Continuing to use Treelign afterwards means you accept the new version.
